What every shade has in common
Colour is the last decision, not the first one. Before it matters, the fabric has to be worth buying.
Every pillowcase here is 100% mulberry silk at 19 momme, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified mulberry silk.
Momme is the weight measure for silk, the way thread count is for cotton. It describes weight, not a quality grade. Nineteen is the weight we sell. Below 16, silk bedding often thins sooner at the stitching.
Mulberry silk is silk produced by silkworms fed exclusively on mulberry leaves, which yields a longer, more uniform filament than wild silk. That is why the surface looks even rather than slubbed.
Dye does not change any of that. A black pillowcase and a white one are the same fibre, the same weight, the same weave.
The neutrals
Pearl White
The classic. Pearl White silk reads as hotel bedding: crisp, luminous, and it makes a room feel larger and brighter. It suits every wall colour and every wood tone. It is the shade people choose when they want the bed to sit quietly in the room rather than announce itself.
The trade-off is that white shows wear sooner. If you want the bed to stay looking freshly made with less washing, choose a darker shade or keep two whites in rotation.
Platinum Silver
Our most versatile shade, and the one we recommend when someone cannot decide. It has the brightness of white with less of the upkeep, and its cool grey shifts with the light: silver at midday, almost warm under a lamp.
It works with white walls, grey walls, wood, brass and black metal. If you own one silk pillowcase, this is the one that will still be right when you redecorate.

Sand Beige
Warmer than silver, softer than white. Sand Beige is the shade for rooms with natural wood, linen curtains and warm light. It photographs well and it is quietly forgiving of daily use.
The dark
Obsidian Black
The practical choice, as much as the aesthetic one. Black silk has a depth no other shade matches. The sheen reads as liquid rather than shiny, and it is the most forgiving of the five: everyday marks show less.

The warm shade
Blush Pink
Warm, soft and easy in the light. Blush Pink makes a bedroom feel considered rather than decorated. It sits well with white, grey, brass and pale wood, and it is a favourite for guest rooms.
How to choose in practice
Match the room, not the sheets. Silk catches light, so the pillowcase reads as a surface rather than a colour block. Pick against your walls and your lighting, not against the duvet you already own.

Do silk pillowcase colours fade in the wash?
