Machine wash cold on a delicate cycle, 30°C maximum, in a mesh bag on the lowest spin. Hand washing is gentler still.

Use a pH-neutral silk detergent. Never fabric softener, never bleach, and never a standard detergent — most contain enzymes that break down protein, and silk is a protein.

Never wring. Press the water out between two towels, then air dry flat in the shade.

Iron inside out on the silk setting, 110°C maximum, while the fabric is still slightly damp.

Cared for this way, silk keeps its sheen for years.
